Nestled in a charming Stratford Tudor building, the Shakespeare Hospice charity shop welcomes visitors looking for a bargain or wishing to directly support the hospice. Run by more than 20 volunteers, the shop in Greenhill Street is just one of 7 Shakespeare Hospice shops within the Warwickshire region. Set up 10 years ago and having moved twice previously, to cope with demand for space, the shop has a regular influx of visitors.

‘People come to the shop looking for clothes, jewellery and household items or just for someone to talk to. We’ve all known someone who has used the hospice or sadly may use it in the future. We are the first point of contact for the charity so can also provide information about what services the hospice can offer’ explains Rebecca, the shop manager. ‘Due to the nature of the charity we regularly receive donations from families of people who have passed away.
The shop welcomes donations from the public and all items are then carefully prepared for sale rather than distributed to other shops around the region. Rebecca and her team are keen to offer a personalised service, so can look out for specific items if a customer requests something unique or can even tailor a whole outfit for a special occasion. ‘People say we always have lovely items in the shop and we are always very helpful’ says Rebecca.
The Shakespeare Hospice Shop is open Monday to Friday 9:30am – 4:30pm and Saturday 9:30am – 4pm
